Tremendous work by pupils, staff and parents in North Glasgow has helped a school reach new heights. That’s the view of education chiefs, impressed by amazing progress at SpringburnAcademy.
A glowing new report by HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) applauds Springburn for successfully boosting achievement and attainment.Inspectors awarded the school 13 ‘good’ and 10 ‘very good’ ratings. No part of school life was found to be ‘unsatisfactory’ or ‘weak’.
The ‘very good’ ratings were given for the leadership of head teach Liz Ervine, along wit the school’s partnership with parents, the parent council and the community. The report also highlighted that pupil performance on SQA national exams has improved across the board.
Springburn MSP Paul Martin said : “I have sent a letter to SpringburnAcademy congratulating them on what I think is an absolutely perfect HMI report, which showed there is great leadership in all areas of school life.Congratulations to the head and all the teachers who have done such a good job.Too often we focus on the negatives, but this is a great example of the wonderful schools we have and an example to others.”
