Up to 35 jobs will be created when two new shops move into a popular retail park in North Glasgow.Currys is opening at the Robroyston facility in May and will be creating around 20 full and part-time positions.Textile World is also set to move in and create 15 full and part-time jobs.
Planning permission has yet to be granted for a mezzanine level to be built in the shop and a date for moving in is yet to be confirmed. It is likely that both shops will recruit staff from the local area.
Dawn developments built the £8.5million retail park last year and will start work to extend the facility by another two units next month.Only one unit remains to be let in the current park.
Springburn MSP Paul Martin said: “I’m delighted Dawn Developments is continuing to show commitment to the area and will be expanding the facility. The extension will help to create jobs for local people.”
Homebase was the anchor tenant in the new development in September last year.Since then Dreams and Acorn Pets have opened shops.
